Motorola Company Profile
Motorola was established by Paul Galvin in 1928 as an American consumer electronics and telecommunications company, first developing walkie-talkies and creating the first affordable television set that was simple to use.
In 2011, Motorola split into two companies, Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions. Each designs cellular and wireless systems and licenses its intellectual property.
1. It is an American consumer electronics and telecommunications company
Motorola is an American consumer electronics and telecommunications company known for its stylish smartphone designs and innovative features, mobile accessories, tablets, wearables, home audio devices, and smart TVs. Motorola is also widely recognized for its telecommunication services, including wireless broadband networks and television programming services.
The company was founded on 25 September 1928 and produced some of the first transistorized cellular phone base stations and signal amplifiers, two-way radios, broadcast network equipment, and computer chips designed by Apple Inc. and IBM Corp, among other products.
In 2011, Motorola separated into two independent entities – Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions. Motorola Mobility focused on producing cell phones and tablet computers, while Motorola Solutions designed business and government mobile communications systems such as two-way radios and barcode scanners. Google then sold Motorola Mobility to Chinese computer manufacturer Lenovo but retained many patents from Motorola, leaving many wondering whether Motorola had become part of China.
2. It is a smartphone manufacturer
Motorola is a smartphone manufacturer known for creating durable devices at competitive prices. Alongside smartphones, Motorola also produces tablets and other mobile devices, which have built a solid reputation among consumers for producing superior mobile experiences at discounted rates.
Motorola was one of the premier cellular telephone manufacturers during the early 1990s. Unfortunately, as rival manufacturers introduced more advanced and feature-packed cellular phones, its profits steadily decreased. But in 2004, Motorola released its RAZR V3 model, which resulted in increased sales and helped restore profitability to the company.
In 2011, Motorola split into two separate companies: Motorola Mobility and Motorola Solutions. Motorola Mobility produced consumer electronics such as mobile phones, tablet computers, digital cable set-top boxes, and other consumer products, while Motorola Solutions focused on commercial components such as two-way radios and barcode scanners for business and government use. Google acquired Motorola Mobility for $22.5 billion later that same year.
Motorola recently unveiled their G84 5G smartphone in India, powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 processor and sporting an incredible 4000 mAh battery capacity. Pricing should fall under Rs 25,000 when sales open up in June 2019.
3. It is a tablet manufacturer
Motorola is a global tablet producer known for creating devices such as the Moto G and Moto X tablets, laptops, and televisions. Motorola is recognized for its innovation, pioneering many technologies, such as GPRS cellular networks. Motorola mobile devices are popular globally.
Motorola was established in 1928 in the United States. Beginning as a radio manufacturer, Motorola quickly expanded into other consumer electronics products such as televisions and laptop computers. Furthermore, in 1996, they released their first digital camera ever released for public purchase by consumers and developed the first handheld GPS unit by 2000. Now part of Lenovo (who purchased Motorola in 2014), Motorola continues to thrive as part of this global technology giant.
The Motorola G84 5G is an affordable high-end smartphone featuring a 5.5-inch IPS LCD and quad-core Snapdragon 695 processor, 13 MP camera with Dolby Atmos sound, 5000mAh battery and available to purchase on Flipkart at Rs 19,999. Available colors include Marshmallow Blue, Midnight Blue, and Magenta.
4. It is a wearables manufacturer
Motorola was one of the first companies to introduce embedded microprocessors that had a broad market impact, from automotive control units and industrial controls through kitchen appliances and household devices such as pagers, electronic game systems, routers, laser printers, and handheld personal digital assistants (PDAs), to mobile phones and laptop computers.
Motorola Mobility operates manufacturing facilities, research and development centers, and administrative and sales offices in numerous locations throughout the United States. Most of its facilities can be found in western regions; however, other plants exist internationally as well.
Motorola was once well known for offering innovative phones at low prices and quickly releasing new models, but eventually lost its edge and was sold to Lenovo in 2014. Since then, Motorola has continued producing low-cost smartphones and tablets without being as innovative as its rivals; nonetheless, offering excellent customer service with a large selection of accessories available – particularly to first responders and military around the world through the Motorola Solutions division of the company.
5. It is a smart TV manufacturer

Google purchased Motorola in 2011 to focus on Android-powered smartphones exclusively.
Motorola produces smart TVs as part of their Moto TV line, which uses Android operating systems and provides HD displays. Their latest smart TV, the Moto X, which was introduced at Mobile World Congress 2017, can be customized with different materials such as natural wood or leather for ultimate customization and is also equipped with 4K resolution display resolution as well as Amazon Echo connectivity for increased convenience in use.
